|A Professional Training Programme on the Planning and Realisation of European Online Seminars in the Humanities, the Social Sciences and Economics|
The CEFES 2000 programme of professional training builds on the experience of an international team of academics in running European virtual seminars over a two-year period. The CEFES project - Creating a European Forum in European Studies - has enabled students from up to 11 countries to discuss European issues using computer-mediated conference software. The asynchronous learning environment offers new opportunities to add a European dimension to the studies of both campus-based and distance learning students, combining regional and international elements in creating transnational curricula.
The CEFES 2000 partners offer a complete training programme of workshops and accompanying on-line coaching and discussions, free of charge, for European lecturers and teachers in higher education.
The CEFES 2000 programme begins in February 2000 with the first face-to-face Workshop in Madrid (repeated in Tübingen, Germany in March 2000).
